EV 1102 PERSONAL EVANGELISM - The development of a life-style as an active witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. The course explores the biblical basis and principles involved in being a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Surveys methods and motivation of person-to-person witnessing to enable the student to witness under a variety of circumstances. Two hours credit.
EV 1112 THE EVANGELIST AND MINISTRY - Designed to provide insight into the work of the evangelist. Examines the role of the evangelist in revival meetings, pastor-evangelist relationships, and the evangelist and his family. Emphasis is given to the call, the burden, the message, and the anointing. Two hours credit.
EV 1203 CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES - Explores principles, methods, and programs of reaching, evangelizing, and discipling children. Ministries explored include bus ministry, VBS, children's crusades and Sunday school. Three hours credit.
EV 2113 CROSS-CULTURAL EVANGELISM - Explores how churches grow in the light of the "homogeneous unit" principle. Examines the fundamentals of cross-cultural evangelism and emphasizes the application of this knowledge to urban church planning. The basic principles of New Testament evangelism will be studied in the context of cross-cultural missions. Three hours credit.
EV 2132 CONTEMPORARY COMMUNITY EVANGELISM - Examines principles and programs that assist the local church in effectively evangelizing its community. Designed to equip the local church with practical application of church growth principles through revival crusades, bus ministries, home ministry outreaches, children's work, high school Bible clubs, and other ministries. Two hours credit.
EV 2212 PERSPECTIVES ON GREAT CHURCHES - An intensive investigation into successful, growing, contemporary churches to discover the factors that have caused them to grow. Attention will be given to both principles and programs. The expected outcome of the course is the motivation of the student to develop attitudes and skills that will result in a fruitful ministry of building even greater churches. Two hours credit.
EV 2312 URBAN MINISTRIES - A study of the total ministry of evangelism, church planning, and social work within the inner city. An inquiry into urbanization and its accompanying problems as it relates to the mission of the church is explored. Two hours credit.
EV 2333 YOUTH MINISTRIES - Designed to equip the youth minister to reach and disciple young people. Attention is given to ministry on junior high, high school, and college campuses. Students examine both traditional and new innovative methods of evangelism and discipleship. Three hours credit.
EV 3113 HISTORY OF EVANGELISM AND REVIVALISM - Surveys the great Christian revivals and spiritual awakenings from Bible times to the present, especially noting their distinctive character, causes, effects, and theological concepts. Explores the unique role of the Holy Spirit in promoting revival. Three hours credit.
EV 3213 PRINCIPLES OF CHURCH GROWTH - A study of the biblical principles of church growth. Emphasis is placed on development of strategies proven effective in establishing effective Pentecostal churches. Special attention is given to principles of effective home cell group ministry. Three hours credit.
EV 4093 SPECIAL TOPICS - A 4000-level Evangelism elective created to provide greater flexibility in degree plans. The course content may change from semester to semester, and the number of credit hours may range from one hour to three hours.
EV 4112 CRUSADE EVANGELISM - The principles and practices of successful revival crusades will be studied. The course will focus on an overview of great revivals in the past and those elements that made them successful. The biblical basis for revival meetings will also be explored, giving proper emphasis to prayer and the moving of the Holy Spirit. Two hours credit.
EV 4113 MODERN RELIGIOUS MOVEMENTS - Studies the major contemporary cults and develops strategies for reaching and evangelizing the people who are involved with them. Three hours credit.
EV 4122 BLACK STUDIES - Provides a general framework for the study of evangelism of black Americans. The history, worldview, forms of worship, and economic status of black Americans as a specific mission field will be studied. Special attention will be given to the preparation of black pastors to meet the prevailing spiritual needs. Two hour credit.
EV 4203 CHURCH PLANTING - A study of the theological basis. biblical principles, and practical procedures involved in planting a church. Discusses methods of going into a community, planting a church, and developing it into a self-supporting, self-governing, and self-propagating body. Three hours credit.
